Lucifer and Sweet Tooth Top Streaming Charts
The Nielsen ratings service as published its weekly streaming charts and Lucifer is the #1 piece of streaming content for the second week in a row. The Netflix show drummed up over 1.8 billion minutes of viewership against its 83 available episodes, for the week of May 31-June 6 marking a 43% improvement over the previous week. The numbers were enough to make it #1 on the Originals chart, and to also outdo the top draws on the Acquired and Film charts by a wide margin.
Netflix also scored a win in this window with the series debut of Sweet Tooth. The show, based on Jeff Lemire's comic, pulled in 794 million minutes of viewership against 8 episodes in its initial week of release. That made it #2 on the originals chart and #3 across all charts.
Finally Jupiter's Legacy exited the rankings once and for all.
The Old Guard 2 Set for 2022 Filming
Star/producer Charlize Theron has said that a script for the Netflix sequel The Old Guard 2 is completed. Theron reported this to Variety, adding that plans are to film early in 2022. She also confirms Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli are reprising their roles.
Sofia Hasmik Set For Season 2 of Superman & Lois
Deadline reports that actor Sofia Hasmik has gotten a promotion. Already appearing on season one of Superman & Lois, she'll be a series regular on season two. She plays intrepid Smallville reporter Chrissy Beppo who has been under the wing of Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch). Season one is in progress on The CW, with the second season starting early next year.
3 Return For The Flash Season 8
Although The CW's hit superhero show The Flash saw some recent major departures, three of its core players have signed on for season 8. Deadline reports that Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker and Candice Patton have closed deals to join Grant Gustin. All the actors have been among the cast since season one. Season 7 is currently in progress and 8 starts November 16.
