New Devil Dinosaur Designs Drop
The social campaign for Disney Channel just dropped a set of new animation designs for the upcoming Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur animated series. The designs depict the title characters, along with a detail design on Lunella, and ancillary designs for the rest of the cast of characters, which includes The Beyonder, Casey, James Jr., Adria, Mimi and Pops. Diamond White is providing the voice of Lunella and Fred Tatasciore plays Devil. Series producer Laurence Fishburne voices The Beyonder. Sadly missing from the post is a premiere date for the show, which is due out sometime this summer.
Michelle Yeoh Among Cast for American Born Chinese Series
Deadline reports that the Disney+ adaptation of Gene Luen Yang's graphic novel American Born Chinese has a full cast.
Michelle Yeoh has the prominent role of Guanyin, the aunt of Wei-Chen, who has a secret identity as, "the all-powerful Buddhist bodhisattva of Compassion." Ben Wang is set to play the protagonist Jin Wang, an immigrant from Taiwan struggling to find his identity in America. Yeo Yann Yann and Chin Han plays Jin's parents. Daniel Wu is set to play the mythic figure of The Monkey King, on a quest to America to find his son. Ke Huy Quan is cast as Freddy Wong. Jim Liu plays Wei-Chen, Ben's best friend. Sydney Taylor is cast as Amelia, Jin's crush.
Destin Daniel Cretton is directing and executive producing the series, which is being developed by Kelvin Yu. Production is set to begin later this month.
6 Songs from Peacemaker Episode 7 on Playlist
The official playlist for Peacemaker has been updated with song selections from this week's episode, "Stop Dragon My Heart Around." The title is a reference to White Dragon, the costumed villain persona of Chris Smith's father and trainer Augie Smith (played by Robert Patrick). Episode six ended Augie, freed from prison and on the warpath to vengeance against his son, donning his White Dragon armor. Episode seven drops on HBO Max Thursday.
