Garfield Movie Adds Four to Cast
Four more actors have joined the cast of Alcon Entertainment's upcoming animated feature Garfield. Deadline reports that Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Hannah Waddingham (Krypton) and Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) are all voicing characters in the adaptation of Jim Davis' beloved comic strip.
There's no word on what characters each actor may be playing, but the lead cat is already voiced by Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson is also on board as Garfield's father. The film is due out February of 2024.
Elsass Drops Out of Superman & Lois
In a surprise move Tuesday, actor Jordan Elsass abruptly dropped out of cast of Superman & Lois just ahead of the start of production for season three. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Television has confirmed the actor is not returning, only stating that it is, "due to personal reasons." Elsass, who plays Jonathan Kent on the show, was due on Vancouver set for the production but did not report to work.
There is some speculation that the reason may involve Canada's vaccine mandate. The actor has reportedly expressed some skepticism about forced vaccination on social media, and may have used an exception to work on the previous seasons. Warner Bros is seeking a replacement for the role.
