DC's Legends of Tomorrow Cancelled by The CW
The CW has cancelled its long-running Arrowverse series DC's Legends of Tomorrow after seven seasons. The news came yesterday via social media shortly after similar news that Batwoman was getting the axe. Showrunner Keto Shimizu tweeted to fans, "Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no season 8 of #LegendsOfTomorrow. We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could."
The series had started as a traditional superhero show featuring many recognizable characters from DC Comics and the Arrowverse. It had drifted into a relationship-oriented comedy that seemed to connect with many fans in its later seasons.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Spinoff Adds Showrunner
The Walking Dead spinoff featuring Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon has a new showrunner. Deadline reports that veteran TV creator David Zabel has replaced Angela Kang in the role. Kang has a full plate with other projects keeping her busy at AMC. It's also possible the series needed some emergency attention after co-start Melissa McBride bowed out of the project. Kang is still executive producer along with Scott M. Gimple. The series set to start filming in Europe this summer for a 2023 release.
