Luke Cage is Netflix's 2016 series based on the the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the third series launched in Marvel Netflix Universe.
Mike Colter stars as the title character, who first appeared on the Jessica Jones series, who finds himself laying low in Harlem. He works several jobs including one at the Paradise club owned by Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes (Mahershala Ali) a notorious gangster. In spite of his goal to keep a low-profile, Cage is drawn into the criminal war between Cottonmouth, Black Mariah (Alfre Woodard) and Diamonback (Erik LaRay Harvey). Other season regulars included Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Shades Alvarez, Rosario Dawson continuing her role of Claire Temple and Mustafa Shakir as Bushmaster.
The show ran two series and also saw Luke appearing in The Defenders.
