DC's Legends of Tomorrow is The CW's 2016 live-action TV series spinning off from Arrow and The Flash and based on various DC Comics concepts and characters.
In the initial premise for the series, renegade Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) travels back in time to gather a team of heroes, who he promises are all legendary in the future. Those heroes include characters who have previously appeared on The Flash, Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh, who combine to form Firestorm), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) along with characters from Arrow, The Atom (Brandon Routh) and White Canary (Caity Lotz). They set off on Hunter's time-ship, The Waverider, to save the timeline from Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) only to learn that Hunter had lied - they are not legendary in the future, they are forgotten and therefore could be removed from their timelines with no effect.
The show's premise and line-up changed dramatically over its long run on The CW, introducing characters like Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Steel (Nick Zano), Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Constantine (Matt Ryan). Lotz has proven to be the consistent player so far, appearing in all season.
The show was produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Phil Klemmer, Grianne Godfree, Keto Shimizu and Sarah Schechter.
The show was cancelled in May of 2022 after seven seasons on the air.
