Daredevil is the 2003 20th Century Fox live-action feature film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett.
The film find blind attorney Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) moonlighting as the vigilante Daredevil, bringing ruthless justice to criminals who eluded him in court. Murdock meets and falls in love with Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner), whos father, Nikolas, serves the criminal master known as The Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan). When the Kingpin orders his hitman Bullseye (Colin Farrell) to kill Nikolas, Elektra blames Daredevil and begins a path of vengeance. The movie also stars Jon Favreau as Foggy Nelson and Joe Pantoliano as Ben Urich.
Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider) directed from his own script.
The film was initially successful at the box office, enjoying a huge opening weekend. It was enough for Fox to declare victory and announce a sequel and the Elektra spinoff. However, interest in the movie declined sharply as it faced mixed reactions from critics and fans alike. A director's cut, released the next year, improved some of the story problems but the studio eventually lost interest in the franchise.
