Batman Returns is the 1992 Warner Bros. live-action feature film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is a direct sequel to Batman and the second film in the 1989 Batman film series.
Tim Burton returns to direct while Michael Keaton returns in the lead role. The movie adds Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.
The movie was seen as darker and a bit more lurid than the first one, but succeeded at the box office.
It is followed by Batman Forever and started the discussion around a Catwoman feature film, given Pfeiffer's indelible portrayal.
