Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is 2000 animated feature film spinning out of the successful Batman Beyond animated series.
The story finds Batman's long-dead foe, the Joker, mysteriously resurrected. Terry is forced to grapple with the villain and the secret he possess about Batman's history and that of his ill-fated Robin, Tim Drake.
Directed by Curt Geda from a screenplay by Paul Dini, the movie was well-received by fans. It also faced some controversial censorship as Warner Bros, reacting to a post-Columbine panic about violence in entertainment, trimmed out much of the violent content just before the initial release. It was later re-issued in an uncensored version.
