Marvel's monster-slayers assemble to hunt the monster among them. The untitled Marvel Studios Halloween Special for Disney+ is now, officially Werewolf by Night. It debuts October 7. Enjoy the first the first trailer. Here's the key art poster featuring leading man Gael Garcia Bernal.
Werewolf by Night is a 2022 live-action made-for-streaming feature being developed for Disney+ by Marvel Studios.
Initial word came from an August 2021 news report culled from casting notices that seek a Latino actor in the lead role. In November 2021 it was reported that this role has been filled by Gael Garcia Bernal.
Laura Donnelly (The Nevers) is also among the cast, according to a January 2022 report. Unconfirmed speculation has her playing Nina Price, sometimes referred to as Vampire by Night, although later rumors have her playing Elsa Bloodstone.
Based on the first trailer it looks like the film is a black and white, retro take on the MCU monsters. Borrowing from the schlock horror of Amicus Productions' The Beast Must Die, the movie assembles Marvel's monster hunters (like Bloodstone) for a moonlit event, with the host knowing that one of them is, themselves, a monster to be hunted.
