The official twitter for the hit Netflix series The Umbrella Academy has signaled fans that season 2 is on the way, with a brief teaser video and a set of posters. The video depicts the cliffhanger ending from season one, which saw the team of super siblings swept away in an energy wave, followed by the message, "Hold on! It's gonna get messy! Season 2 is Coming."
The posters tease the seven characters who make up the team: Vanya (Ellen Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Number Five (Aidan Gallagher), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan) Diego (David Castaneda) and Ben (Justin Min). An eighth image provides a "2" treatment on the show's trademark Umbrella, while posing the question, "Where Are They?"
The Umbrella Academy was the #3 most-watched new series on Netflix last year. A second season was quickly greenlit, but details have been scarce since then.
The Umbrella Academy is the Netflix original TV series based on the Dark Horse Comics franchise of the same name by Gerard Way and Garbriel Ba.
The TV series finds the adult members of a super team / adopted family reuniting after years of estrangement due to their father's mysterious death. Drawing from tropes found in comics like X-Men, the father in this case is Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) a wealthy industrialist who adopted seven children, who were born under bizarre circumstances and each of whom has a super-human ability. Vanya (Elliot Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castaneda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) and Ben (Justin H. Min) are the children who live and train at the Umbrella Academy. They are cared for by their "mother" Grace (Jordan Claire Robbins) and the family butler Pogo (Adam Godley) an intelligent chimpanzee.
