Actors Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zeljko Ivanek and Gaius Charles talk about the new dangers that permeate the zombified New York City in this behind the scenes look at The Walking Dead: Dead City. Watch the series this June on AMC and AMC+.
The Walking Dead: Dead City is the 2023 AMC limited series spinning off from The Walking Dead.
Cohan and Morgan reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan in the six-episode mini-series. The two, bitter enemies in the current leg of the series, will be paired on a mission to Manhattan, which is now cut off from mainland New York in the post-apocalyptic world. The city is inhabited by both the Dead, and remnants of the living who have carved out a new existence.
Also cast is Gaius Charles (Taken) as Izaak, who may be some kind of vigilante in the new Manhattan.
Set to premiere on AMC+ and AMC in 2023, the first season will consist of six episodes. Eli Jorné, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on The Walking Dead for multiple seasons and has an overall deal with AMC Studios, will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series, which is overseen by Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe. Cohan and Morgan will also serve as executive producers.
