Superman & Lois | Wole Parks and Emmanuelle Chriqui React to Gotham Knights

Superman & Lois veterans Emmanuelle Chriqui and Wole Parks check out their Tuesday running mate, Gotham Knights, and find it -- hilarious! Watch both shows Tuesdays on The CW.

Season three of Superman & Lois opens weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston.

Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents’ romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating “the secret” can be, as Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois.

However, Lois’ own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough.

Meanwhile, the Kent boys find themselves being pulled in opposite directions as Jordan (Alex Garfin) discovers what a superhero-identity really means and Jonathan (Michael Bishop) searches for purpose beyond the football field.

Amid all this upheaval, John Henry (Wolé Parks) is haunted by his doppelgänger’s past, leading to dangerous consequences for him and Natalie (Tayler Buck).

Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Kyle (Erik Valdez) redefine their family post-separation, while Sarah (Inde Navarrette) explores what the future holds for her and Jordan now that she knows the truth about his powers.

Having learned the hard way that no one else can be trusted to work with Superman, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) reclaims his post at the Department of Defense, only to face his own conflict in working with his grandson, Jordan.

Superman & Lois is the 2021 live-action TV series for The CW spinning out of Supergirl, based on the DC Comics characters Superman and Lois Lane.

The show stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the world’s most famous Super Hero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Both Hoechlin and Tulloch have already appeared as these iconic characters in multiple episodes of The CW’s DC superhero series, including the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

The CW provides this synopsis for season one:

After years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane, come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass, Little Fires Everywhere) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, The Peanuts Movie) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui, Entourage), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez, Graceland).

The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette, Wander Darkly). Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh, Nip/Tuck) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when both a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks, All American) and impassioned self-made mogul Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner, Tyrant) enter their lives.

Gotham Knights is the 2023 live-action television series for The CW based on the DC Comics characters originating in the world of Batman.

The CW offers this description of the series: Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it. In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes is framed for killing the Caped Crusader, along with the children of some of Batman’s enemies: Duela, an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father, Harper Row, a streetwise and acerbic engineer who can fix anything, and her brother Cullen Row, a clever transgender teen who is tired of being polite and agreeable. With the charismatic and hard-charging District Attorney Harvey Dent and the GCPD hot on their trail, Turner will rely on allies including his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown, and unlikely Batman sidekick Carrie Kelley. But our Knights will soon learn there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. This team of mismatched fugitives must band together to become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.

Casting for the series includes Oscar Morgan as Turner, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row (aka Bluebird), Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent (aka Joker's Daughter), Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley (aka Robin, Catgirl, etc), Misha Collins as Harvey Dent, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown (aka Spoiler) and Rahart Adams as Brody.

Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux are all writing the new show. Abrams is an alum or Batwoman and Supergirl. Fiveash and Stoteraux were executive producers and writers on Gotham.

In February of 2022, The CW ordered the project to pilot with Danny Cannon (Gotham, Pennyworth) directing and executive producing. In May of 2022, The CW ordered the concept to series.

Fiveash and Stoteraux are executive producers along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Abrams is a co-executive producer.
