Spider-Man: The New Animated Series is a 2003 MTV animated series based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Developed by Sony following the success of the Spider-Man movie, the CGI-animated series followed Peter Parker (Neil Patrick Harris), Mary Jane Watson (Lisa Loeb) and Harry Osborn (Ian Ziering) as the move on to college at Empire State University. Angelle Brooks and Keith Carradine were also series regulars. The show had a parade of noteworthy guests such as Rob Zombie as The Lizard, Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin, Clancy Brown, Virginia Madsen, James Marsters, Stan Lee (of course) and many others.
The show was developed by Brian Michael Bendis, Margan Gendel and Marsha Griffin and drew somewhat from Bendis' run on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics series.
In spite of the popularity of the character and fairly strong ratings, MTV felt the show was off-brand and cancelled it after one season.
