Justice League is a 2001 animated TV series developed for Cartoon Network and based on the DC Comics super team of the same name.
The show was developed by Bruce Timm, who had already co-produced Batman: The Animated Series in the years prior. The show assembled the "Magnificent Seven" lineup of the team, whose primary roster is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern John Stewart, The Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl.
The voice cast saw fan favorite Kevin Conroy returning to the role of Batman. George Newbern provided the voice of Superman. Susan Eisnerberg voiced Wonder Woman. Michael Rosenbaum, Phil LaMarr, Carl Lumbly and Maria Canals voiced The Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl respectively.
Justice League was a big hit and ran for 52 episodes from 2001 to 2004. It was replaced by Justice League Unlimited, which gave license to the animators to expand the ranks of the league every episode.
