CinemaSins takes down the most take-downable of TMNT films: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles in Time.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles in Time is the 1993 sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Both films are based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
This movie finds April O'Neil (Paige Turco) transported through time to Japan, circa 1600, by a magical scepter. The turtles embark on a time-travel rescue mission to save her and end up battling a tyrannical warlord.
Stuart Gillard wrote and produced the film, which is largely disliked by TMNT fans and audiences alike. It under-performed at the box office, compared to the previous two movies, and brought an end to the early 1990s cycle of films in the franchise.
