There's a lot to question about the 2005 adaptation of Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves and pre-possession Shia LeBeouf. Here's CinemaSins picking all the nits for your amusement.
Constantine is a 2005 film, directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Keanu Reeves.
Based on the DC Comics character created by Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette, Rick Veitch and John Totleben, Constantine is recast as an American occult investigator who is struggling to outrun damnation to hell by battling demons on Earth. In the film he aids Detective Angel Dodson (Rachel Weisz) in solving her sister's death. The plot finds them running afoul of Lucifer himself (Peter Stromare). Shia LeBeouf, Tilda Swinton and Djimon Hounsou also appear.
The movie was a non-starter with critics with an unimpressive box office that closed the door on sequels.
