Heavy Metal 2000 (also known as Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.2) is the 2000 Columbia Pictures animated feature film based on the Heavy Metal graphic novel The Melting Pot by Kevin Eastman, Simon bisley and Eric Talbot.
Julie Strain stars as the voice of Julie (then-wife of Eastman, the producer and originator of the film) a character modeled after her. A warlord named Tyler (Michael Ironside), a man who has uncovered a source of immortality on the planet Eden, a planet designated F.A.K.K.2 (Federation-Assigned Ketogenic Killzone/second level). His destruction of the planet and abduction of Julie's sister, Kerri (Sonja Ball). Julie is out to get revenge on Tyler and rescue her sister.
The film also features the voices of Billy Idol and Pierre Kohn.
Like the 1981 film, this movie has a soundtrack composed of Rock music from the likes of Idol, Pantera, System of a Down, Insane Clown Posse and others.
The film is directed by Michael Coldewey and Michel Lemire from a script by Robert P. Cabeen and Carl Macek.
It was distributed on the home entertainment market to poor reviews, and failed to live up to the cult status created by the 1981 film.
