Red Sonja Adds Rhona Mitra
The Red Sonja movie has a few casting changes, detailed in a report by Deadline.
Fan fave heroine actor Rhona Mitra (Supergirl) is joining the cast in an unspecified role.
Departing the film is Oliver Trevena, who had been cast as a character called Tr'all. Trevena is said to have scheduling conflicts that prohibit his participation.
Filming on the project is currently underway in Bulgaria. M.J. Basset (Solomon Kane) is directing.
Harrison Ford to Assume Thunderbolt Ross Role in MCU?
A rumor that's been percolating for a while, now has what looks to be independent confirmation from /Film.
Harrison Ford is said to be taking on the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie.
The role was originated in the film The Incredible Hulk by actor William Hurt who has reprised it in several films since then.He most recently played the character in Black Widow. Unfortunately, Hurt passed away in March.
With Ross being an integral figure in the Thunderbolts storyline, it looks like Marvel Studios is set to recast the part. It's not the first time the studio has had to do so, with Jim Rhodes/War Machine originally played by Terrence Howard and Bruce Banner starting off with Edward Norton.
/Film does not name their sources, so this can still be considered rumor. Thunderbolts is due in theaters July 26, 2024.
Legion of Superheroes Gets Animated Film
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on the next animated feature film from Warner Bros. Animation: Legion of Superheroes.
The home entertainment release focuses on Supergirl (Meg Donnelly) as she struggles to adjust to life on Earth. Superman (Darren Criss) suggests she spend time studying in the 31st Century with the Legion Academy. There, she makes new friends and a new enemy in Brainiac 5. She also runs afoul of the Dark Circle, a group on the search for a doomsday weapon hidden in the Academy archives.
According to THR's reporting, the voice cast includes Cynthia Hamidi as Dawnstar, Gideon Adlan as Phantom Girl, Ely Henry as Bouncing Boy, Robbie Daymond as TimberWolf and Brianiac 4, Yuri Lowenthal as Mon El, Eric Lopez as Cosmic Boy and Chemical King, Darin De Paul as Brainiac and Solomon Grundy, Ben Diskin as Arms Fall off Boy and Brainiac 2, Victoria Grace as Shadow Lass, Jennifer Hale as Alura, Daisy Lightfoot as Triplicate Girl, Zeno Robinson as Invisible Kid and Brainiac 3, Matt Bomer as The Flash and Jensen Ackles as Batman.
Legion of Superheroes is due out early next year.
