Paper Girls gets July Release
The TV series adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang's comic book series Paper Girls is set for release next month. Prime Video will stream the series starting July 29. With some key art that throws a Stranger Things vibe, the series is set in 1988 and focuses on four paper girls who get, "caught in the crossfire between warring time-travelers," sending them on a cross-time journey of their own where they confront their adult selves.
Cameras Rolling on The Old Guard 2
Production on The Old Guard 2 is now underway. Star and producer Charlize Theron posted a pair of images from the set on social media yesterday. The first photo features herself and co-stars Kiki Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthias Schoenaerts and Luca Marinelli sitting in canvas-back chairs and looking like they're having a good time. The second snap adds director Victoria Mahoney and new cast member Henry Golding. The film is expected on Netflix next year.
Hotell Feature Film In The Works
Deadline reports that AWA Studios is assembling a feature film project around their horror comic book Hotell.
Elle Callahan is set to direct the film from a script she co-writing with Anthony Ruff. The pair recently collaborated on the indie film Witch Hunt.
The comic, written by John Lees and illustrated by Dalibor Talajić, centers on an eerie roadside destination called The Pierrot Courts Hotel which is host to a myriad of guests and their horrific deeds.
