Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Already Sets Record
Director James Gunn just made a fun announcement about his in-production Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3. The film has apparently already set a new cinematic record.
"Just heard from our makeup folks at [Legacy Effects] that yesterday #GotGVol3 officially passed the World Record for 'the most makeup appliances created for a single production,'" Gunn posted on social media today. After pointing out that the previous record-holder was The Grinch he added, "Congrats, guys! Thanks for keeping practical effects alive!"
The Marvel Studios movie is headed for theaters May 45, 2023.
The Highest House Getting TV Adapatation
An article detailing a new hire at the production shingle Prodigal, Inc, reveals a new TV series project based on The Highest House by Mike Carey and Peter Gross. Deadline reports that producer Tarquin Pack (Kick-Ass) has been recruited by the company to head their film and TV division. The project is listed as something already underway at Prodigal, with Gabrielle Stanton (Titans) and Nick Bragg (The 100) writing the adaptation and serving as showrunners.
The comic, from IDW Publishing, is a historic fantasy focusing on a young slave named Moth serving at the lowest position of the social strata of the fictitious country of Ossaniul. The Highest House refers to the fortress held by the noble family of Aldercrest who rules the land. When Moth meets the mysterious prison Obsidian, the pair form a pact that may provide escape for them both.
