It's the year 2033, eleven years after a comet struck the earth causing global drought.Tank Girl (Lori Petty) is rebellious member of a commune operating the last independent water well, who comes into conflict with an evil water magnate named Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell). The film also stars Naomi Watts and Ice-T.
Tank Girl was directed by Rachel Talalay from a script by Tedi Sarafin.
The movie did poorly at the box office and with critics. However, it has garnered a bit of a cult following for it's highly-stylized aesthetics and bonkers storyline and world-building. Recent reports indicate that Margot Robbie is interested in developing a new take on the concept.
