Swamp Thing is the 1990 USA Network TV Series spinning-off from the earlier film series, all based on the DC Comics character created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.
Dick Durock returns to the role of Swamp Thing, having played the character previously in film. Unlike the campy first film and the outright zany sequel, the TV series strived for a more serious tone. Anton Arcane was recast as Mark Lindsay Chapman. Noteworthy cast members include Kari Wührer, Rosco Lee Brown, Tyne Daly, Philip Michael Thomas and Kevin Nash. Ray Wise, who appeared in the first movie also made a guest appearance on the show.
The show was developed by Joseph Steanfo who wrote the classic horror film Psycho. It was a ratings success, and was one of the network's top-rated shows. It did not fare as well with the critics. It ran for three seasons totalling 72 episodes.
