Superman is a series of animated films originating in 1941, produced by Fleischer Studios based on the DC Comics character off the same name.
Produced by Max Fleischer and directed by Dave Fleischer, Superman briefly encapsulates the hero's origin story before moving on to the main plot, involving a mad scientist extorting Metropolis with his death ray. The cast includes Bud Collyer as Superman, Joan Alexander as Lois Lane, Julian Noa as Perry White, Jack Mercer as The Mad Scientist and Jackson beck as the narrator.
The series of short films were nominated for an Academy Award and are highly-regarded to this day.
