Spawn: The Animated Series is the 1997 animated HBO series based on the Spawn comic books created by Todd McFarlane.
The series was developed by Alan B. McElroy, the screenwriter of the Spawn theatrical feature film that was released in theaters the same year.
Keith David provides the voice for Spawn. Michael Nicolosi voices violator in clown mode. Other noteworthy voices include Richard Dysart, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ming-Na Wen, Ronny Cox, James Hong and Eric Roberts.
The series was well-received for it's dark, adult themes and stylish animation. It ran for three seasons.
