Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: Available on Hulu

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is the Dimension Films' 2014 sequel to Sin City, both based on the Dark Horse comics created by Frank Miller.

Like the first film, Dame is an anthology of short, gritty crime stories set in the fictitious Basin City. The first segment, "Just Another Saturday Night," finds Mickey Rourke reprising his role as Marv, and Jessica Alba returning as Nancy. "The Long Bad Night (Part I)" finds Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing a new character, Johnny, pitted in a poker game against Senator Roark (Powers Boothe, returning). The centerpiece is "A Dame to Kill For," which recasts Josh Brolin in the role of Dwight (played previously by Clive Owen), who is drawn into a web of danger by his prior girlfriend Ava Lord (Eva Green)."The Long Bad Night (Part II)" concludes Johnny's battle with Roar. Finally, "Nancy's Last Dance," focuses on Alba's character and sees Bruce Willis returning as Hartigan.

The segments were directed by Robert Rodriguez and Miller with scripts by Miller taken directly from the comics.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For suffered at the box office, following its original by almost decade. It also failed to impress critics and fans for whom the impact of the original had worn off.
