Red 2 is Summit Entertainment's 2010 sequel to Red both of which are based on the Wildstorm Comics series created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner.
Ex-CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is coded by the agency as "Retired: Extremely Dangerous" (RED). Having resolved his conflict with the agency he's trying to settle into normal life with his girlfriend (Mary Louise Parker) while ignoring warnings from highly-paranoid former cohort Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) that they are still being hunted. Boggs concerns are all too real, spinning the three of them back into reluctant action. Helen Mirren returns, joining new cast members Catherine Zeta-Jones, Brian Cox and Byung-hun Lee.
Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) directs from a script by Jon and Erich Hoeber.
The movie was less well received at the box office than the original and got middling reviews from critics. There had been some talk of a third film, or a TV series but to date nothing has materialized.
