R.I.P.D. is the 2013 Universal Pictures live-action feature film adapting the Dark Horse Comics title of the same name created by Peter M. Lenkov and Lucas Marangon.
The film find corrupt Boston Police detective Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) is betrayed and killed by his partner, Bobby Hayes (Kevin Bacon). In the afterlife, Walker finds he can either proceed to eternal damnation, or redeem himself as an officer in the Rest in Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), who brings in wayward spirits who refuse to proceed to their ultimate reward. He's partnered with Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges) and old west Marshal. The film also stars Mary-Louise Parker and Stephanie Szostak.
Robert Schwentke (RED) directed from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.
The film was panned by critics and a completely flopped at the box office.
