Punisher: War Zone is the 2008 Lionsgate live-action feature film based on the Marvel Comics character, The Punisher.
Unconnected to any previous film, Ray Stevenson stars as Frank Castle who is deep into his mission to make criminals pay for the death of his family. The film opens with the title character raiding a criminal confab, leaving Billy "The Beaut" Russotti (Dominic West) severely disfigured and an undercover FBI agent dead. Russotti rises again as the villain Jigsaw as Castle begins to doubt his own methods. The film also stars Julie Benz, Colin Salmon, Dash Mihok and Wayne Knight.
Directed by Lexi Alexander from a script by Nick Santora, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the film flopped with critics and moviegoers alike.
