Mystery Men is the Universal Pictures' 1999 live-action feature film based on characters appearing in the Dark Horse Entertainment title Flaming Carrot Comics, created by Bob Burden
Ben Stiller, William H. Macy and Hank Azaria star as three low-rent superheroes tired of being D-listers compared to the City's true hero Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear). They decide to form a super team recruiting more oddball heroes played by Janeane Garofalo, Paul Reubens, Kel Mitchell and Wes Studi. The film also stars Geoffrey Rush and Eddie Izzard as the primary villains, as well as Leni Olin, Claire Forlani and Tom Waits.

The film did not fair well at the box office, sinking any hope sequels. It is, however well-liked for its comedy and cast.
