Human Target is a 1992 live-action ABC Television series based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
Rick Springfield stars as Christopher Chance, a bodyguard and private investigator with a special ability: when a client is under imminent threat of assassination, he can impersonate that client and make himself the target until the danger is cleared.
He's assisted by Marsden (Kirk Baltz) a computer expert, Carlyle (Sami Chester) a jet pilot and Page (Signy Coleman) a former CIA agent.
The series was created by Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo who had enjoyed recent success adapting The Flash for television and The Rocketeer for big screen. However, the show would not continue their streak.
It was generally panned by critics and was hampered by its own premise. The problem: Springfield would not appear for a large portion of every episode as whichever actor was playing the client of the week would carry many of the scenes. Only seven episodes were aired before ABC pulled the plug.
