Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: Streaming Release

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is the 2022 Marvel Studios TV special for Disney+, based on their Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise.

James Gunn, who wrote and directed the film series, writes and directs this this as well. Gunn responded to the announcement with a public statement that he unironically loves the Star Wars Holiday Special, which may give some indication of what to expect. Gunn has also said publicly that the special is MCU canon and falls between Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

The special re-assembles the cast of the film series including Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Sean Gunn.

Kevin Bacon also appears as himself, when then crew decides to cheer Star-Lord up by taking him home -- to Earth -- for Christmas and gifting him with his dance-off role model.
