From Hell is the 2001 adaptation of the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell.
The history-based film stars Johnny Depp as Inspector Freddie Abberline, a London police office investigating a series of murders attributed to the enigmatic serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. The film also stars Heather Graham, Ian Holm, Robbie Coltrane and Jason Flemying.
