Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a man without hope. Once a successful and arrogant surgeon, Strange's career is ruined by his own carelessness when his hands are irreparably damaged in a car crash. He follows rumors of miraculous healing to Karma-Taj where he encounters the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who begins to school him in the Mystic Arts. Soon he is forced to defend the world against the extra-dimensional threat of Dormammu.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong and Rachel McAdams also star.
Scott Derrickson directed the film from a script by Jon Spaihts, C. Robert Cargill and Derrickson.
The movie is followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
