Cowboys & Aliens is the 2011 DreamWorks Pictures live-action adaptations of the Platinum Studios graphic novel of the same name.
Daniel Craig stars as outlaw Jake Lonergan who finds himself cuffed with a piece of alien technology on his left arm, but no memory of how it got there. He's captured by local law-enforcement and, along with local troublemaker Percy Dolarhyde (Paul Dano), prepared for transport to the authorities. Dolarhyde's unscrupulous father Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) strongarms the release of his son and Lonegran. That's when the aliens arrive, revealing the wrist-tech to be a weapon capable of downing their spacecraft. Soon the opposing townfolks are banding together to hunt down these strange visitors. Olivia Wilde also stars. Other cast members include Sam Rockwell, Clancy Brown and Keith Carradine.
Jon Favreau directed the film from a script by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby and Steve Oedekerk.
The movie arrived to middling reviews and a disappointing box office.
