Captain America is the 1990 live-action feature film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Matt Salinger stars as Steve Rogers, a frail soldier who volunteers for a supersoldier experiment in 1943, which gives him super strength and endurance. However, the creator of the experimental formula is killed by his former subject Tadzio De Santis (Scott Paulin), who was physically enhanced but terribly disfigured, and now goes the the name Red Skull. While averting the Skull's plot to bomb Washington D.C., Captain America averts the missile but lands himself in arctic waters where he is frozen for decades. Cap is revived in the 1990s and finds that he still must battle the Red Skull to save the world.
The film also stars Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty, Darren McGaven, Billy Mumy, Michael Nouri and Melinda Dillon.
