Bulletproof Monk is the 2003 MGM live-action feature film based on the Flypaper Press comic series of the same name created by Brett Lewis and Michael Avon Oeming.
Seann William Scott stars as a young street thief named Kar who finds himself the unlikely student of an ancient monk (Chow Yun-fat). The monk is imbued with super powers by a mystic scroll. The pair's fate intersects with Jade (Jaime King), the daughter of a Russian crime-lord. During the course of their adventures, the untrained and undisciplined Kar begins fulfilling the prophecies that would make him the next Bulletproof Monk.
Music video director Paul Hunter directs from a script by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris (Kung Fu Panda).
The movie was greeted by middling reviews. It performed poorly at the box office as well.
