Blade: Trinity is New Line Cinema's 2004 sequel to Blade II, both based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the third movie in the first Blade film series.
With Blade: Trinity, David S. Goyer, who had shepherded the franchise as a writer and producer so far, steps into the director role.
This one finds Blade aided by a team of vampire hunters, lead by Hannibal King (played by Ryan Reynolds in his first of many forays into comic book movies) and Abigail Whistler (Jessica Biel). Ever the loner, Blade is reluctant to join a team, but the threat this time is the resurrection of Dracula himself (Dominic Purcell).
In spite of the piling on of Marvel "dark book" lore, the movie is a bit of a misfire and saw the end of the first Blade film series.
