The Addams Family is a 1991 live-action Paramount Pictures adaptation of the comics strips of the same name by Charles Addams.
The film starred Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia as Morticia and Gomez Addams, Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester, Christina Ricci as Wednesday, Jimmy Workman as Puglsey, Judith Malina as Grandmama and Carle Struycken as Lurch. The story involves Fester's return to the family after a 25-year absence, which prompts hilarious paranoia.
Barry Sonnenfeld directed from a script by Caroline Thompson and Larry Wilson.
Trading off nostalgia for the 1960s TV series, the movie did well at the box office and inspired one sequel.
