Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is Marvel Studios' 2022 sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther. It is the second film in the Black Panther film series.
With the massive success of the first film, a sequel was inevitable. However, actor Chadwick Boseman died tragically in the summer of 2020, leaving the prospect of the film in doubt.
However, in November of that year, Marvel announced plans to continue the franchise. Letita Wright, who plays Shuri in the series, looks to return and figure prominently into the continuation. Returning cast members also include Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett. Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) is joins the cast as Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Also joining the cast is Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You).
Ryan Coogler is returning to the directors chair as well.
