Batman (1966 TV Series)

Batman was a 1966 TV series adapting the DC Comics character of the same name, developed by 20th Century Fox Television for ABC.

Adam West and Burt Ward starred as Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson (aka Batman and Robin). Also appearing where Yvonne Craig as Batgirl, Cesar Romero as The Joker, Burgess Meredith as the Penguin and Frank Gorshin as The Riddler. Catwoman was played initially by Julie Newmar, and then by Eartha Kitt in season 3 of the show.

The show was a massive hit for ABC and was shown twice a week during the height of its popularity.  It even prompted a feature film.

It was highly-comedic in silly, causing many comic fans to blame it for the lack of respect American culture had towards comic books for many years. In spite of this, the show is fondly remembered.
