Art School Confidential is the 2006 Sony Pictures Entertainment live-action film adapting Daniel Clowes' comic book story of the same name from the Fantagraphics comic Eightball.
Max Minghella stars as Jerome, an aspiring illustrator newly-enrolled in Strathmore School of Arts where his romanticized vision of being an artist hits a strong reality check. At the same time a serial killer is operating around campus, prompting several artistic adaptations of his work. Eventually suspicion falls on Jerome. The cast also include Sophia Myles, John Malkovich, Anjelica Huston, Jim Broadbent and Steve Buscemi.
Terry Zwigoff directed the movie from a script by Clowes. The pair previously collaborated on the acclaimed Ghost World. This film, however, did not enjoy praise from the critics and recieved generally negative reviews.
